The Prodigy – Discografía (1992-2018)

El día de hoy, 2 de noviembre, la banda inglesa de música electrónica The Prodigy ha lanzado su séptimo disco de estudio, titulado No Tourists. Esta producción, que será apoyada por una gira mundial, incluye diez canciones de las cuales se han lanzado ya cuatro sencillos: “Need Some1”, “Light Up the Sky”, “Fight Fire with Fire” y “We Live Forever”. Los fans de esta agrupación podrán escuchar este disco en esta misma entrada, pero primero vamos recordando brevemente la trayectoria de este grupo.

The Prodigy se formó en 1990, en la ciudad Braintree de Essex, Inglaterra. Actualmente cuenta con tres miembros: Liam HowlettKeith FlintMaxim (nombre artístico de Keith Palmer). Se dieron a conocer en la escena rave underground y son considerados como pioneros, junto a bandas como the Chemical Brothers y Fatboy Slim, del género de la música electrónica conocido como “Big Beat”.

En 1992 publicaron su primer álbum, Experience, con el que recibieron muy buenas críticas. A este le siguió Music for the Jilted Generation (1994), cuya recepción fue mejor que el anterior. La fama mundial les llegaría con su tercer disco, The Fat of the Land, estrenado en 1997, en donde se incluyen los éxitos “Firestarter”, “Breathe” y “Smack My Bitch Up”.

Siete años después, en el 2004, debutaría Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned. En el 2009 lanzaron Invaders Must Die, otra producción comercialmente exitosa. Y hace cuatro años, en el 2015, se estrenó el sexto disco, The Day Is My Enemy.
