Aquí en México llegará hasta el 27 de julio, pero como este fin de semana se lanzará a la venta el soundtrack de El Planeta de los Simios: La Guerra (War for the Planet of the Apes), una semana antes de su estreno en las salas de cine de Estados Unidos, aprovechemos la ocasión para escuchar las bandas sonoras de las dos cintas anteriores. Pero antes, hablemos un poco de estos filmes, tanto los clásicos como los remake/reboot.
La primera película, basada en la novela del mismo nombre de Pierre Boulle (título original en francés La Planète des Singes), se estrenó en 1968 y fue estelarizada por Charlton Heston. El Planeta de los Simios (Planet of the Apes) cuenta la historia de un grupo de astronautas que aterrizan de emergencia en un extraño planeta en un futuro cercano que en un principio creían que estaba desolado pero pronto descubren que existe una sociedad de simios evolucionados con inteligencia y habilidad de hablar. Además, son la especie dominante mientras que los humanos que habitan allí son mudos y visten pieles de animales.
Esta serie de filmes continuó con Bajo el planeta de los simios (Beneath the Planet of the Apes, 1970), Escape del planeta de los simios (Escape from the Planet of the Apes, 1971), La conquista del planeta de los simios (Conquest of the Planet of the Apes, 1972) y La batalla por el planeta de los simios (Battle for the Planet of the Apes, 1973).
Sería hasta el año 2001 cuando se volvería a realizar el inicio de la franquicia con el remake El Planeta de los Simios (Planet of the Apes), dirigida por Tim Burton y protagonizada por Mark Wahlberg. Aunque fue un éxito en taquilla, la cinta no agradó lo suficiente y se decidió no hacer secuelas directas. Tuvieron que pasar 10 años más para que se reiniciara la saga con El planeta de los simios: (R)evolución (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, 2011) a la que le siguió El planeta de los simios: confrontación (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, 2014).
Ahora sí, en los siguientes reproductores podrán escuchar los álbumes musicales. Pero antes y como extra, les dejamos el soundtrack de la cinta de 1968 (que también incluye temas de su segunda secuela) y la de su remake del 2001.
