El día de hoy, 17 de agosto, se lanza a la venta Queen, el cuarto álbum de estudio de la rapera Nicki Minaj (nombre artístico de Onika Tanya Maraj). Aprovechando la ocasión, vamos conociendo un poco sobre la trayectoria de esta cantautora, modelo y actriz para después escuchar el nuevo disco y también los tres álbumes anteriores.
Nicki Minaj comenzó a ser conocida en el ambiente musical al publicar tres mixtapes: Playtime Is Over (2007), Sucka Free (2008) y Beam Me Up Scotty (2009). Después de ser contratada por la disquera Young Money Entertainment, lanzó su primer disco, Pink Friday (2010), el cual llegó a ser el número uno en el Billboard 200 de Estados Unidos. De esta producción, con participación de artistas como Eminem, Rihanna, Drake, will.i.am y Kanye West, se desprendieron ocho sencillos y una gira de conciertos.
El segundo disco, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, llegó dos años años después. Como el anterior, también logró el primer lugar en el Billboard y fue promovido con una gira mundial.
The Pinkprint fue el título del tercer álbum de estudio publicado a finales del 2014. Éste debutó en el segundo lugar del Billboard 200 estadounidense y fue nominado como Mejor Álbum de Rap en los Premios Gammy. Desde luego, se promocionó con otra gira internacional en el 2015.
