Microsoft al fin confirmó que la compilación de Xbox One del 2014, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, llegará próximamente a la PC, no solo disponible en la Microsoft Store sino también en Steam. Para celebrarlo, vamos recordando un poco sobre los juegos en esta compilación para después ver el tráiler de anuncio en la plataforma de Windows y escuchar las bandas sonoras de los videojuegos que allí se incluyen.
Como bien lo indica su nombre, esta colección, desarrollada principalmente por 343 Industries, incluye los juegos de disparos en primera persona que recopilan la historia del protagonista de la franquicia, Jefe Maestro (Master Chief): Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3 y Halo 4.
El primer Halo salió a la venta en el 2001 junto al primer Xbox. Gracias a su éxito de critica y de ventas, el videojuego inició una popular franquicia en donde asumimos el control de Jefe Maestro, un supersoldado mejorado cibernéticamente del siglo XXVI, que deberá enfrentarse a seres extraterrestres mientras intenta descubir los secretos de Halo, un mundo artificial en forma de aro.
Este título sería mejorado en el 2011, celebrando su décimo aniversario, en Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary para el Xbox 360. Pasaría algo similar con Halo 2, original del 2004 en el Xbox, el cual tendría su remake diez años después en Halo 2: Anniversary, un juego exclusivo dentro de The Master Chief Collection. Halo 3 (2007) y 4 (2012), originalmente lanzados en la consola Xbox 360, también recibieron algunas mejoras para la mencionada compilación.
