El día de hoy, 24 de febrero, se lanzó a la venta Lighting Up the Sky, el octavo (y probablemente el último) álbum de estudio de la banda de rock estadounidense Godsmack. Los seguidores de esta agrupación podrán escuchar este disco de diez canciones más abajo en la entrada. Pero primero, repasemos rápidamente la trayectoria de esta agrupación.
Godsmack se fundó en 1995 en la ciudad de Lawrence, Massachusetts. Los miembros actuales son Sully Erna, Robbie Merrill, Tony Rombola y Shannon Larkin. El primer álbum que publicaron bajo el sello de una gran disquera fue Godsmack en 1998.
A este le siguió Awake, dos años después, el cual debutó en el número cinco del Billboard 200. El tercer disco de estudio, titulado Faceless (2003), tuvo un par de temas nominados a los Premios Grammy.
Pasarían tres años para que la banda lanzara un nuevo álbum, el cual sería IV, con el que llegaron a la posición número uno del Billboard 200. Y no sería la única vez, ya que las quinta y sexta producciones discográficas, The Oracle (2010) y 1000hp (2014) respectivamente, también lograrían esa hazaña.
When Legends Rise, el séptimo disco, vio la luz hace cinco años, en el 2018.
