El clásico juego de RPG del GameCube, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, será remasterizado en una nueva edición que saldrá a la venta el próximo año en las consolas Nintendo Switch y el PlayStation 4. Aprovechando este hecho, vamos recordando un poco sobre el juego original para después ver el avance de la Remastered Edition y escuchar el soundtrack.
Crystal Chronicles fue desarrollado por los japoneses de The Game Designers Studio y lanzado en Japón en agosto del 2003, llegando al occidente en el 2004. Fue el primer Final Fantasy disponible en una consola de Nintendo desde Final Fantasy VI (1994). Aquí los jugadores toman control de unos aventureros que viajan en caravana reuniendo el combustible místico que requieren los cristales que protegen a su mundo.
La buena recepción de este título, spin-off de la franquicia, dio lugar a otros videojuegos en ese mismo universo, como la precuela Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates (Nintendo DS, 2007), Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time (NDS, 2009), Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers (Wii, 2009), Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King (Wii, 2008) y Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Darklord (Wii, 2009).
