El día de hoy se ha publicado un nuevo soundtrack oficial de Fallout 4, el más reciente juego de la serie Fallout en el que se incluye música original de sus dos expansiones. Por tal motivo, vamos hablando de la saga en general para después escuchar las bandas sonoras de todos los juegos principales, incluyendo la que fue lanzada el día de hoy.
Los videojuegos de Fallout son del género RPG de situados en un mundo alterno abierto post-apocalíptico. Los dos primeros títulos, Fallout y Fallout 2 (subtitulados A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game), fueron desarrollados por Black Isle Studios y publicados en 1997 y 1998 en la PC y Mac. La saga principal continuaría hasta el 2008 con el lanzamiento de Fallout 3 por parte de Bethesda Softworks, quienes compraron la franquicia y le dieron más vida al agregar acción en tiempo real y cambiando los gráficos a 3D. El éxito de esta entrega (que llegó a la PC, el PlayStation 3 y el Xbox 360), tanto de crítica como de ventas, dio motivos suficientes para que una nueva secuela, Fallout 4, saliera a la venta el 10 de noviembre del 2015 en PC, PlayStation 4 y Xbox One. Antes de este, en el 2010, hubo otro juego de la serie principal, Fallout: New Vegas, el cual fue desarrollado por Obsidian Entertainment.
La historia en los juegos es similar: controlaremos un personaje que se protege junto a otros en una bóveda de la radiación en la superficie generada por una gran guerra hace años. Pero por algún motivo, nuestro personaje tendrá que salir a explorar y tener cuidado de los peligros que acechan en el tóxico mundo.
