Warner Bros. Home Entertainment ha publicado el la animación de apertura (“Opening Titles”) remasterizada de Batman: La Serie Animada (Batman: The Animated Series) para que no se nos olvide el inminente estreno del Blu-ray de este clásico show del Caballero de la Noche que llegará este 30 de octubre. Por eso, es buen momento para recordar un poco sobre esta caricatura para después ver el mencionado video y escuchar los seis volúmenes de su soundtrack oficial.
Esta serie debutó en Estados Unidos a principios de septiembre de 1992 y contó con 85 episodios que terminaron de transmitirse originalmente tres años después (en os últimos 15 episodios se tituló en pantalla como Las Aventuras de Batman y Robin / The Adventures of Batman & Robin). Fue muy bien recibida por los fans de este superhéroe de DC gracias a su tono oscuro, modernización del origen del personaje titular, estilo gráfico y guiones.
Es considerado por muchos como uno de las 10 mejores series animadas de todos los tiempos. Fue el primer show que mostró continuidad en el Universo Animado de DC, y gracias a su éxito se crearon dos películas, Batman: La máscara del fantasma / Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993) y Batman: Bajo Cero / Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero (1998). También dio lugar a dos series que continúan la trama, Las nuevas aventuras de Batman / The New Batman Adventures (1997-1999) y Batman del futuro / Batman Beyond (1999-2001).
La edición “Batman: The Complete Animated Series Deluxe Limited Edition” incluirá no sólo los 85 episodios remasterizados del show original, también los 24 capítulos de The Adventures of Batman & Robin y las recientemente actualizadas La máscara del fantasma y Bajo Cero esparcidos en 12 discos de alta definición.
