Nota Original (06/04/2017):
Shovel Knight es un juego de plataformas en 2D desarrollado por Yacht Club Games. inicialmente lanzado en la PC, el Nintendo 3DS y el Wii U en junio del 2014 gracias a una exitosa campaña de Kickstarter. Al siguiente año este videojuego llegó al PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita y el Xbox One, mientras que hace un mes se lanzó una versión para el Nintendo Switch. Como hace unos días se liberó una nuevo contenido descargable, Specter of Torment, del cual, el día de hoy se ha publicado oficialmente su soundtrack, así que vamos comentando sobre el videojuego en general para después escuchar la banda sonora (y de paso los álbumes anteriores).
Shovel Knight se inspira en clásicos juegos del NES (como Zelda II: The Adventure of Link y DuckTales) y sigue las aventuras de Shovel Knight quien, junto a su amada Shield Knight, se encontraba explorando la Torre del Destino pero un amuleto maldito se lleva a Shield Knight y deja a Shovel Knight fuera de la torre, ahora sellada. El héroe, afligido por lo ocurrido, deja las aventuras por mucho tiempo pero cuando el mal se propaga y éste escucha que el sello de la Torre del Destino ha sido removido, Shovel Knight regresará al lugar con la esperanza de rescatar a Shield Knight.
Les dejamos a continuación el tráiler del reciente DLC y bajo éste se encuentra su soundtrack. Después encontrarán la banda sonora original, el album arreglado Strike the Earth! y al final el disco del contenido descargable Plague of Shadows. Toda la música original fue compuesta por Jake Kaufman.
(11/12/2019): El día de hoy se publicó el soundtrack oficial de King of Cards, la tercera y última campaña de este juego que ya se encuentra disponible. Los que gusten escuchar esta banda sonora también compuesta por Kaufman la encontrarán al final de esta entrada, después de las primeras bandas sonoras ordenadas cronológicamente. Pero primero los dejamos con el tráiler de lanzamiento de Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove, la edición completa de este título que contiene los cinco juegos de la serie (el original Shovel of Hope, los DLCs Plague Knight, Specter Knight y King of Cards, y el modo multijugador local Showdown).
